Project Notes
Designed for the architect's own family, this three-bedroom residence in Sta. Maria, Bulacan carries an unusual depth of care and intention. The brief was shaped by the specific circumstances of the site and the lives that would be lived within it.
The building is raised two metres above ground level in direct response to periodic flooding in the area — a measured, practical decision that also gives the house a considered presence within its setting.
On the second floor, glass blocks are used along the fire wall boundary to bring natural light into the family room without compromising the party wall. It is the kind of detail that only emerges from a thorough understanding of the site and brief.
